One Cute Office

I’d never be short of inspiration if I blogged from a dreamy workspace filled with utterly lovely treasures like these…

This gorgeous studio belongs to Ishtar Olivera. Amongst many other things, Ishtar is an illustrator, artist and photographer who loves being surrounded by beautiful things.

I couldn’t resist interviewing Ishtar, just to see what makes her creativity tick.

1. Hello Ishtar! Can you tell the readers a bit about yourself and your work?

Hello Lovely readers of Miles of Style! My name is Ishtar Olivera and I am a children’s Illustrator from Spain.

2. You’re such a talented lady. Illustrating, Photography, Interior Decorating, Sewing, you seem to be good at everything! Does creativity come naturally to you or have you studied art/design formally?

I haven’t studied Art or design formally (but I’d love to)so I guess it comes really naturally. I just love to find the aesthetic in everything I do . I really enjoy the entire creative process behind a photo, a styled space, an illustration...It’s part of who I am.

3. I love your studio. How did you go about creating such a beautiful and inspiring working space for yourself?

My studio is very small but I still wanted to make it an inspiring place for me. A space that invited me to sit down and create something. I´ve always craved white and bright spaces. I like the feeling of calmness and tranquillity this may bring. Besides, white is so easy to match with everything! I like the fact I can change the whole space just by adding little bits of colours, depending on my mood or craving : )

I specially love the round mirror! It was a free find and it’s in perfect condition. I just painted it white and voilá. I really liked the result and how much it’s round form softens whole room.

4. What motivates you? Do you have any online sources of inspiration that you frequent often?

I´m inspired mostly by flickr. A single photo can inspire me so much to paint or decorate something with the colours or theme featured in the photo! I also Love soulemama’s blog. She helps me stay focused on what’s really important and nurtures my own love for life and creativity. I´m also inspired by blogs like decor 8, not only because of it’s gorgeous decorating and styling posts, but also by Holly’s charisma.

5. Do you have any guilty pleasures / indulgences ?

My guilty pleasure would be the internet! I spend too many hours on it some days...more than I would want to, but it becomes addictive! There is so much out there! So many possibilities, so many wonderful people to meet..I cant help it ;D

Is there anything for me to say other than…sighDon’t you just love this cute and quirky workspace? For more visually inspiring images and ideas do check out Ishtar’s Blog.
